My awesome experiences with Shutterfly

I've been asked to write about products on my favorite photo site: Shutterfly.

I use Shutterfly all the time. I upload all of my photos to their site, as a back up to our computers and storage methods. We have had our computers crash and lost everything that was on them, pictures, music, files, everything. But I haven't completely lost any photos because I have them all uploaded to Shutterfly's website and saved in organized folders. It gives me great piece of mind knowing all of my photos are safe there, and its free! And since all of my photos are stored there, I get my prints done by them too. And I love that you have the option to have them shipped to you, or I can send them to any Target store and pick them up. Here is a link, if you want to start uploading your pictures to Shutterfly: http://www.shutterfly.com/upload-pictures

They also have a lot of awesome products on their site. I have used them for the past couple years to make our Christmas cards, and both Brody and Logan's birth announcements. They have a huge variety of styles to choose from, and they are the most reasonably priced from what I have seen on other sites. I like that they have a lot of options with their cards - you can choose how many pictures, fonts, colors, etc. I like being able to personalize the cards and be able to adjust the amount of photos - especially for the Christmas cards, so that I can have pictures of each of our kids on the card. Here is a link to all of their great photo cards: http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/holiday-cards

I also love to make Photo Calendars on their site. I have made them both for my mom and my mother-in-law and they love them! Again, they have a huge varitiy of styles to choose from and offer a lot of personalization options. This year, they have added the option to put a photo on a day of the calendar - so I put a picture of the kids on their birthdate - it looks super cute! And they added some really cute styles this year! I am giving them as gifts again this year, and I am sure they will be a hit, as always! Here is a link to the Calendar products: http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars/wall-calendars

They have a ton of products available - I have also made mouse pads and coffee mugs.

Hands down - the best photo storing, photo sharing, and photo product site out there!

Great day at Children's Hospital!!

On Wednesday the 15th, Logan had 2 appointments at Children's Hospital. He had a swallow study and follow up with the cardiologist.

First was the swallow study. (We were hopeful that he would be able to be ready to not have to thicken his bottles anymore!) They got him all set up in the little chair (that he looked absolutely HUGE in now, compared to his first swallow study when he was not even a week old!) and started him on non-thickened barium to see how he would do. He ate a few ounces and they saw no problems!! So we were given the OK to stop thickening his bottles! This was so exciting!!

Next was the appointment with the cardiologist. We wanted him to been seen just to check on the issue(s) that they found when he was in the hospital. Dr. Singh listened to his heart, and said he sounded fine, and he didn't hear the valve making any noise that it sholuldn't be. He said he didn't think we needed to do any other tests. He explained to us, again, what a bicuspid aortic valve is, and said he should be just fine. He said we don't have to worry about him doing sports or anything like that, if he ever has a problem with it, it probably won't be until he is way older. But he wants us to bring him back in a year to just to check him out again. We were really worried about this appointment, and were so thrilled when everything went perfectly!!

So (as long as all goes well, and nothing else pops up) we won't have to go back to Children's for a year!!! Hooray!!! We are done with swallow studies, hearing tests, hip ultrasounds.....and maybe even done with the pulmonologist (unless he has any breathing problems this winter). We'll have to see the cardiologist yearly (most likely) but that may be it!

There was a time when I wasn't sure he was going to be able to be a normal little boy, and that we would be in and out of doctors offices and hospitals all his life. But life is looking a whole lot better! =)

Melody has started Middle School

I can't belive it, but Melody started Middle School this week!! We went to orientation last week, and got to walk around, meet her teachers and get to know the school. She was really excited! Tuesday was the first day, and she was a little nervous (I think I was more nervous then her!!) but everything went great! I was so worried she would get lost, but she didn't. She has the same teacher for Communications and Math, and then another teacher for each Social Studies and Science. So she gets to move to other rooms for different classes now.

She also gets to start band this year! =) She REALLY wanted to play drums/percussion, but the school dumb rule that you have to have 2 years of piano lessons to play percussion. So she decided to play the saxophone. (The band teacher told her if she does well and tries really hard with the saxophone, then he will think about letting her switch to percussion....let's hope so!!) She finally got her saxophone yesterday and was super excited to show Adam and I how to put it together, and all the things she learned in class that day. I think she is really going to like it! =)

It is so hard to believe that she is getting this old. Before I know it she will be driving....and graduating!!! =`(

(We had to take her "first day of school" picture inside this year =( It was so windy outside, I think we would have got blown away!! =) )

Logan - 4 months old!!

Well, "little" Logan is 4 months old!! He just had his check-up, and he weighs 20 lbs 10 oz and is 27" long!!! Wow. He is off the chart for weight and 97% tile for height. What a big guy!! =) But he is growing at a normal rate, he is "on his own growth curve" as his doctor put it ;) His check-up went well, his doctor said he looks great and is on track developmentally. He has been doing really well the past couple of months with his reflux and breathing and stuff. He has 2 upcoming appointments on September 15th. He has a follow up swallow study, hopefully he will have matured and won't need to thicken his formula anymore (*fingers crossed*). He also has an appointment with the cardiologist, just to follow up and check on his bicuspid aortic valve and things they found on his EKG when he was in the hospital. Hope that all goes well too =/

He is such a mover!! He can roll from front to back, and from back to front. And when he is on his tummy, he tries to scoot all over!! He loves to play in his excersaucer and with all his toys. We packed away his swing (it couldn't really handle swinging all his weight anymore!) and so now he likes to sit in his high chair when we are in the kitchen. He just loves to look around and see what is going on. He loves sitting up, so he loves the high chair.

We have tried eating cereal a couple times, but isn't too sure about it.... We will give it a couple more tries this week and get used to that, and then on to more yummy stuff like apples!!

Since he is almost 21 lbs, and his infant seat only goes to 22 lbs....it was time to get a new seat!! What a daunting task! You're picking out something that is made to save you child's life, and there are tons of seats out there to pick from!! After a lot of thought we decided to get Brody a new seat that can convert into a booster seat, and pass his seat to Logan. No more infant seat for the Logan ! =( I can not believe how fast they grow!

He has changed so much in the past month! He has gone from a little baby who just lays there, to a roly poly baby who loves to move and play! No more infant seat, bouncy seat (he kept flipping himself out of that because he was trying to sit up!), or swing..... we are on to excersausers, big car seats, and rolling around on the floor! Where does the time go....

Melody is 10!!!

Wow. I can't believe it.10. Sometimes 10 years ago feels like 1, sometimes it feels like 100.

Well, Melody and I have been through a lot in our 10 years together, but here we are happy and healthy =)

She is starting Middle School in a few weeks. I don't feel old enough to have a kid in middle school (well, I probably am not, but oh well!). She is really excited to go, and meet some new friends and reconnect with the ones she met last year. She gets to start band this year too, which she is really excited about. She really wanted to play the drums, but for some stupid reason, you have to have 2 years of piano lessons to play drums!! WTH!! Anyways, so she is thinking of playing either saxophone or flute. So we shall see what she decides.

She is growing like a weed! Scary. Not ready for her to be this old!!

Brody is 2!!

We celebrated Brody's 2nd Birthday on July 24th with a party at our house with family and friends. It was a blast! =)

He is getting SO big! He is staring to put together sentences, and learning new words faster then I can keep up with understanding them! He still LOVES books. We got him a Leap Frog Tag Jr. Reader for his birthday and he is learning how to use it. He can count to 10, and loves numbers. He will point them out everywhere! Walking through Walmart, he points out all the numbers on the price signs. He knows how to spell his name, and knows lots of letters. And is starting to learn colors and shapes.

He loves to play with Logan, or at least Logan's toys ;). He loves to give him hugs and kisses, and tries to share his snacks and drinks with him (have to watch him with that one!). He calls him "brother" =). He is staring to learn how to spell Logan too.

Love my Brody Man!!
